You will have the deepest experience if you get involved, even if that’s something as simple as pinning a photo of a loved one to your shirt. While there is lots to look at during the Procession, it is not primarily a spectator event. Allow yourself to flow into an experience of real community, where we interact in ways that are different, authentic to our nature, and open to our feelings. Make a mask, a puppet, an art installation, an altar, some way of honoring those who have gone before, who we remember, honor, release, and embrace.Get out of your regular regimen and persona.DOĬome and enjoy the experience in a way that works for you. Do not enter this area unless you are a float or group planning to participate in the Domo. Once the Urn & taiko drums pass, feel free to step in and join the Procession if you would like.Īt the Finale site, you will see a designated area for floats and groups that are going to participate in the Domo (walk across the stage). If you are not walking in the Procession, but are watching from the sidewalk, please stay on the curb as the Procession approaches you. Consider starting further along the route if you need to. The route is about 2 miles and we walk slowly. If you want to push a float or a stroller, please do, but know that it takes a little work. Local businesses may be happy to let you use a restroom if you are also patronizing their business. There are port-a-potties at the gathering and Finale site along with a couple of other locations along the route and restrooms in the Mercado San Agustin. Please keep an eye out for each other! All of us are responsible for taking care of each other. So wear comfy shoes, bring water, and you might want a flashlight. You will be walking on city streets and an unfinished dirt lot. Most everything you need to know is linked to or contained in our Procession Guide. Read it to be prepared!

The mixer is priced at $899, which includes a high quality full sized mixer, a full version of Traktor Pro 2, scratch vinyl and a bevy of controls – the Z2 is a great value for those that want to move to a professional, full-sized DJ mixing interface. Built-in powered USB hub: With two ports, this means plugging in Midi Fighters, F1s, etc is a snap, and doesn’t take up a precious USB port on your computer.Great cue/sample triggering features: The cue points triggers are lined up perfectly next to the turntables for quick access.Three Innofaders: Smooth as butter, these extremely high-quality faders are designed to have some of the best response and durability.Removable top panels: There’s a good chance there will be future color and style options available to Kontrol Z2 owners. One of the really nice things about putting the Z2 in a CDJ setup is that if you’re not ready financially to upgrade to the CDJ-2000 Nexus units, the Z2 allows you to access a similar set of digital features that those offer – like the beatmatching and sync technology. The mixer stands at a standard height, matching CDJs and turntables, and packs a 24-bit soundcard with XLR outputs, booth outputs, microphone and photo/line inputs. The Kontrol Z2 also delivers when it comes to having a sensible place in a wide array of setups. Flux Mode is very similar to the Slip Mode that a lot of CDJ units now include – the track keeps playing while you use effects or scratch the track, and then jumps back to where the track would have been.Macro Effects operate in a similar way to the Super Knob effects found in most of the DJ TechTools mappings, combining effects motions into a single action – making fills, sweeps, builds and breakdowns more exciting to create with just a single knob.Post-Fader Effects the new version of Traktor allows users to choose when effects are applied allowing more creativity post fader. The new update includes three new major features that complement the workflow of the Z2 – but that all users of the software can get pretty stoked about: THE NEW TRAKTOR FEATURESĪlongside the launch of the new Z2 mixer is a new version of the Traktor Pro 2 DJ software, Traktor 2.6. The mixer has some of the best innovations in more recent digital DJ developments as well, offering advanced HID integration with CDJs, a complete browse section that allows for selection and loading of tracks, and simple control of Traktor’s new Macro Effects and Flux mode (see below). All three faders (channel faders and crossfader) are Innofaders, and on either side of the mixer are four cue point/Remix Deck buttons backlit with multi-color LEDs. The unit is Traktor Scratch Pro certified, so timecode signals can be wired straight into the unit for a complete DVS solution. The mixer has a spacious mixing section, with plenty of room in the layout to allow for broad motions that intense scratching, juggling, and channel gating techniques sometimes require. While not a full channel strip, this proves to be sufficient for basic level adjustments. Both auxiliary decks have a single knob that is used for volume control. In practice, it makes the most sense to have decks A and B running full songs, with C and D pumping in loops, samples, and acapellas. While the Z2 is on the surface a two channel mixer, it still offers full control over all four decks in Traktor. (Editor’s Note: We don’t think small photos quite do this unit justice- so we’ve uploaded a full set from our photo shoot on Facebook.) A 2X2 MIXER The mixer is clearly aimed to become the professional club mixer for Traktor users, matching and potentially surpassing the legendary Rane TTM 57/61/62 series of mixers that many Serato DJs know well. It’s not the MIDI-only mixer that devoted S4 users have been clamoring for – but instead a club-ready, standalone-mixer mixer that also offers complete control over any connected computer running Traktor. Designed to be a true pro-level mixer, the unit is housed by an aircraft-grade aluminum body and sits at standard mixer/turntable height. It’s essentially a control surface and analogue mixer with a sound card all wrapped in one package. The Traktor Kontrol Z2, Native Instruments first foray into the DJ mixer world, is a digital/analogue hybrid. Ships with: Traktor Scratch Pro, Control Vinyl and the mixer. In today’s exclusive video, I walk you through the Z2 and show you some of my favorite features of the mixer and of the new Traktor 2.6 that I used in NI’s launch video that was just released.Īvailability: Preorders now in the DJTT store – Expected ship date Nov. As many of you know, I’m a big believer in standalone mixers for serious DJing, so it was a pleasant surprise to find out NI was making a dedicated Traktor mixer. Today we’ve got the full details on the Kontrol Z2 mixer teased a few weeks ago by Native Instruments. Yet to make an appearance are Publisher-integrated Ads, which Brave hasn't described in detail other than to assert that they will be "private ads within their website." Brave said that this ad category would launch later this year. Three of those are cryptocurrency-focused as well, while the remaining pair are the media company Vice and the meal kit firm Home Chef. Braveīrave's BAT-and-ad pane lets users set contributions of the former and notifications per hour of the latter, among other things.Ĭurrently, User Ads come from the two ad networks and three cryptocurrency-centric companies featured in the previews that started in January, as well as five new advertisers. Out of the box, Brave distributes any accrued BATs automatically, "based on your attention as measured by Brave." Users can also "tip" specific sites or set up recurring monthly tips to favorite destinations. The concept might show viewers fewer ads - or none if they refuse to look at any - but that would be in large part because the TV maker would have to generate much less revenue to stay afloat than if it had also created the content by, for instance, building and programming its own ESPN.īy default, Brave will show two of these ads hourly, although users can change the setting from between one and five per hour. At some point, the TV manufacturer would exchange the IOUs for some of the cash generated by ad sales. The IOUs would be split between ESPN and other channels' programs the viewer tuned to and saw ads on. It's as if a TV maker came up with technology that erased ads from a program, say ESPN, when it showed on the screen inserted its own house ads into the ESPN show then credited owners of the TVs with IOUs for volunteering to watch those ads. Sites that, at least in Brave, receive no ad revenue because their ads have been blocked, get nothing except for any largess users dole out using BATs. They are separate and supplemental," even though they replace current ads in that the latter no longer appear in Brave but the former certainly do.īrave will hand over 70% of the revenue from User Ads to, well, the users - so the approximately 5.5 million users as of December will split that 70% - and keep the remaining 30%. It's because User Ads are so different that Brave can get away with saying, "Brave Ads do not replace current Web page ads. "When users click to engage with these notifications, they're presented with a full page ad in a new ad tab," Brave stated in an unsigned post on the company's blog. User Ads are unlike traditional website ads in that they're full-page displays that appear only after the user accepts an on-screen notification that one can be viewed. The tokens could be passed to publishers as support for their sites, or alternately the tokens could be exchanged for premium content or advanced features on a website.Ĭomplicating matters, Brave has decided on two categories of its ads-as-replacement-for-other-ads: one, named "User Ads," the other labeled "Publisher-integrated Ads." It's the former that launched last week. To internally monetize the model, Brave created BATs, which users earn for agreeing to view ads and other content. For that, Brave came up with the idea of replacing the erased ads with ads it sold. Brave's premise is that users want a browser that doesn't show the current kind of online ads but instead strips every ad from every page - scrubs ad trackers while it's at it - ala, say, Chrome or Firefox armed with a comprehensive ad blocker.īut Brave needed a business model, a way to pay the staff who produced and maintain the browser. Plt.suptitle('Different degree curves', y=1.1, fontsize=19, fontweight='bold') Let’s see an example to understand the concepts better: # Import necessary libraries The value to the y parameters represents the y-coordinate in the figure coordinates and the value of the pad represents the gap/padding of the title text from the plot/subplot. We can adjust the padding of the title text of the figure by adding a parameter y in the () function and can add either y or the pad parameter in the () function. We can specify the position of the title text of the figure by adding two more parameters x and y in the () function. Read: modulenotfounderror: no module named ‘matplotlib’ Matplotlib subplot title position We have changed the font-weight to make the title text bold for the figure. Plt.suptitle('Different degree curves', fontsize=19, fontweight='bold') We can make the font of the title text to be bold (for both figure title and subplot title) in the matplotlib by adding a parameter fontweight with the necessary integer value (600+ for the bold font) or the string ‘bold’ in the () or/and () function. It makes it easier to tell when the butter is browning and helps from burning the butter. I recommend using a lighter colored saucepan when browning butter. Cook for about 5-7 minutes swirling the pan occasionally. Simply heat the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Browning the butter is easy and adds a hint of nuttiness to this easy corn pudding. Instead of jiffy mix I used a mix of cornmeal and flour.įor extra flavor I decided to brown the butter instead of just melting it. It’s soft, fluffy, and baked to a beautiful golden brown with nice crisp edges. Sweet like cornbread, but savory thanks to the delicious buttery taste. Why this recipe worksĬorn casserole is the perfect middle ground between sweet and savory. Corn casserole is a classic side dish made with 6 simple ingredients including Jiffy cornbread mix, creamed corn, whole kernel corn, sour cream, butter, and eggs. What this all boils down to now is that it is really a matter of taste. I'm using two detectors right now that have auto ground tracking on them and find that, for me, they do a perfectly fine job and they are a lot easier to use. I used a manual ground balance machine my first five years and found that a neutral ground balance was the best all-around setting for me.Īutomatic ground tracking has improved to the point now that there is virtually no ground that it can't cope with. Some of the prospectors I hunt with still prefer having full control over their ground balance function as there are times when a slight positive setting can give you a small increase in depth and a slightly negative setting can sometimes null out certain types of hot rocks while still enabling you to hear any targets which may be under or around the hot rock. Manual ground balance was the only way to go until just the last couple of years. Ground Balance: The more you can control the response of your detector to ground mineralization, the better you will be able to hear the tiny variations in the sound of your threshold that can signal a small, faint target under your coil. Also, all metal is the only mode you will use because the number one rule of nugget shooting is: DIG ALL TARGETS! Please let me repeat that because, if you're going to be successful at hunting for gold you absolutely must DIG ALL TARGETS! I have done this exactly once in seven years to give you some idea of how often one uses discrimination. If your machine has a discriminator on it, this is an added feature that makes your detector a better all around machine, and in certain very rare instances, can be useful in extremely trashy areas if you're willing to forgo the small stuff. Since most of the gold out there is smallish in size, any discrimination will mask the small bits and cause you to lose the only nuggets that you may come across in that area. Here are those attributes that I feel make for a top notch gold machine:Īll Metal Mode: In the quest for gold nuggets, you always hunt in all metal because your targets can, and do, come in all shapes and sizes from tiny sub-grain size to lunkers of an ounce or more. This came about because over the years certain attributes of the machines in use at the time proved to be valuable in the hunt for those elusive nuggets while other features were of less importance. Since the introducton of Fisher's Gold Bug in 1987, all the major manufacturers have come out with their own version of specialized gold machine. Can any metal detector be used to hunt for gold? Yes, but some will do a better all around job than others. Well, why not? Metal detectors detect metal and gold is a metal, ergo, a metal detector can detect gold. "Can you really find gold with a metal detector?", I am often asked when a person finds out that I hunt gold as a hobby. When we solidified the beach theme, the color I chose for the island and shelves was the next decision. The horizontal lines on the windows inspired me to take the shelves all the way across the windows on the main wall of the kitchen. “I knew I wanted the element of floating shelves in the this kitchen but couldn’t really find a good spot.
